Delit is a wine from a single plot of old vines of Monastrell more than 50 years old and of low production. The balance of the vineyard allows a late harvest at its optimum point, and its elaboration aims to convey that balance and complexity by seeking a very elegant wine.
It is a high expression wine, but both its delicate vinification, in open barrels with only gentle maceration, and its subsequent aging on the lees, seeks to enhance that roundness and balance that makes it a quality wine for all audiences at the same time. It is a wine that can be consumed on any occasion. Which is true, provided it is in good company.
Delit covers both the demand for the Monastrell variety and the demand for ‘top’ Mediterranean wines at a relatively affordable price. Focused on the wine list of the top hospitality outlets, where it can also be served by the glass and for sale to the public in specialized and gourmet shops.
It is placed in the market with a two-year difference between its sale and its year of vintage. Its’ optimum time of consumption varies between two and five years after harvest.
SHEETGRAPE: 100% Monastrell
VINEYARD: Monastrell vines over 50 years old located in Salinas, near the Vinalopó Valley. On sandy, open ground. Low vines in goblet strictly rainfed only with a production limited to 1,5 Kg per vine.
VINTAGE: 2017 was a year with abundant winter rain and a vegetative period of lower temperatures, with late maturity. The result was a very balanced wine with very fine and elegant aromas.
ELABORATION: Hand-picked in October 2017, it was macerated for 10 days in open 600 L barrels, with very gentle punch-downs. At the end of malolactic fermentation, the wine was racked to the new 500L French oak barrels and aged with its own lees and fine chardonnay lees. The ageing lasted 12 months.

Delit is a very elegant wine, both in the nose and mouth, resulting from the combination of the Monastrell, the Mediterranean climate, the low production, the maturity of the grape and its vinification on the lees.
VISUAL: Deep colour, medium to high intensity, denotes a compromise between vividness and elegance.
NOSE: In the nose, the tertiary aromas are fused with pastry notes and dairy hints with red fruit aromas, giving rise to an enveloping and very round aroma.
MOUTH: In the mouth it has an elegant entrance and a tasty pass, leaving a pleasant sensation. The balanced acidity and well-integrated tannins stand out. The long aftertaste strengthens the creamy and pleasant feeling, inviting one to continue prolonging the pleasure.
